On Tuesday, Dec. 29, police were tipped off to the suspected crime spree by the general manager at Ulta Beauty at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury.
The GM reported that a man had concealed a bottle of cologne and left the store without paying, police said.
Police canvassed the area, and with a detailed description of the suspect, found him soon after outside of Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Upon investigation, police allegedly found a bottle of cologne from Ulta as well as items from Marchall’s, Nordstrom, and Best Buy, police said. The value of the alleged stolen items totals about $730. In addition to the merchandise, police also allegedly found a “theft detection device removal tool.”
Police arrested the suspect, a 25-year-old Webster man, and charged him with three counts of shoplifting, larceny under $1,200, possession of a theft detection device deactivation/removal tool, and an outstanding arrest warrant.
